Wildfire Weeds has arrived!

My debut novel, “Wildfire Weeds” has arrived! The first copies are here! I’m so pleased to announce that my book has been self-published and the print shop sent me a box of books today! There are many more on their way, getting ready for the formal book launch on September 1st!

This really represents so much hard work: I’ve been writing, rewriting, editing, and steadily working to create this very book. After the fires of 2017 burnt my neighborhood to the ground, I wanted to tell a story about living with the threat of firestorms from within California’s wildfire ecological corridor.

After many difficult months of reliving material that was deeply personal, I was finally able to complete my debut novel. For all the trauma that came with the firestorm, I feel pleased to see all the art that is being brought forth to help people cope with the drama.

As fire season has become a more normal part of life in California, I hope that this book will provide a unique look at the fire ecology that is at the core of this state’s environmental history. For more information about my novel, you can visit my Novels page.
